This week we receive at the Hive, Jairus Mozee.

Jairus was born on June 29th 1987 in Indianapolis, Indiana to two musical parents. Growing up in church his father played guitar and it was heard throughout his childhood. So, naturally when a position opened at his grandmother’s church to play guitar Jairus took the opportunity and played every Sunday and Friday. Eventually Jairus studied jazz guitar and bass in school and by the time he was 15 he was doing recording sessions for RNB group “b2k”.

Once Jairus was 17 he received and offer to play for Prince and Jairus has not looked back since. After a 5 month period with Prince Jairus went on to tour and write songs for artists such as : Lil Wayne, Anthony Hamilton, Cee Lo, Fantasia, Robin Thicke, Boney James, Redman, Janet Jackson, Keri Hilson, Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar, just too name a few. Jairus is also a songwriter and producer and has credits with: Jill Scott, Redman, Robin Thicke, BJ the Chicago Kid, Anthony Hamilton, Deitrick Haddon and Faith Evans.

Most recently Jairus won a Grammy as a producer on the Album "Ventura" by Anderson Paak with the track "Come Home" also featuring Andre 3000. Keep it beezy!
