This week we receive the singer/songwriter Vavá at the hive for a jam and a little chat. Vavá has an incredible and unique approach to songwriting, guitar playing and singing.
VAVÁ is Vanessa Wheeler, formerly of the band LeoLeo. Since gaining attention from her posts on Instagram, she has opened for break-out artists like Lauren Ruth Ward, and has toured nationally with The Dear Hunter and The Family Crest (winter, 2017).
Her music is made of up of subconscious, micro-references to Vanessa's major influences (Brazilian, Black American, pop, rock, and progressive musical genres), which are then filtered through her guitaristic, composer/songwriter brain.
VAVÁ’s debut EP “The Other Side” is available now. A full length album is due out in 2019.
